The Royal Mail Mailing House Scheme is a progressive and value based scheme which provides a positive return for both Mailing Houses and Royal Mail, by rewarding behaviours that drive quality improvements in the mailing industry. The aim of the Scheme is to encourage adoption of standards that improve the quality of mail in the market, drive up operational efficiency and encourage the growth of mail. The Scheme is open to any UK Mailing House that undertakes mailing services on behalf of independent customers, however only accredited members have passed the requirements required in terms of individual understanding and company policies. As a Scheme member, we are required to meet certain performance criterias and aim to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of mail across our industry.
The PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests. PEFC is a global umbrella organisation for the assessment of and mutual recognition of national forest certification schemes developed in a multi-stakeholder process. These national schemes build upon the inter-governmental processes for the promotion of sustainable forest management, a series of on-going mechanisms supported by 149 governments in the world covering 85% of the world's forest area.
Established in 1993 as a response to concerns over global deforestation, FSC is widely regarded as one of the most important initiatives of the last decade to promote responsible forest management worldwide. FSC is a certification system that provides internationally recognized standard-setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services to companies, organizations, and communities interested in responsible forestry. The FSC label provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment as well as providing ongoing business value. FSC is nationally represented in more than 50 countries around the world.
